The competence of biomed-tec to be emphasized is the preparation of interdisciplinary expert opinions, in connection with the evaluation of injuries and accident causality under special experience in accident research. We could also offer scientific studies in the field of accident analysis. We are an interdisciplinary expert opinion office based in Hannover and operating nationwide. Our clients: courts, authorities, insurance companies and private clients. The name biomed-tec stands for competence in biomechanics, medicine and technical accident analysis. We have experts in motor vehicle safety engineering, accident surgery, orthopaedics, emergency medicine, urology, biomechanics, forensic medicine, neurosurgery and psychology and psychosomatics.
The methodological focus of the laboratory is the epigenetic characterization of DNA samples. For the analysis of methylation patterns in the promoter region of certain genes, bisulfite sequencing has been mainly used in the last 10 years. Currently, nanopore sequencing has been established in our laboratory to investigate larger DNA regions by Cas9-mediated enrichment. If aberrant methylation patterns are detected in a clinical picture, the functional relevance or the effect on expression level is verified by real-time PCR, Western blot, ELISA and further gene expression analyses and correlated with the psychometric data.

The German Society for Tissue Transplantation (DGFG) organizes tissue donation nationwide and provides patients with corneas, amnion, heart valves, blood vessels and bone grafts.
